The Nissan Pathfinder is something special: a three-row SUV that is beautifully spacious inside, remarkably affordable, and designed to ensure you and your family have a great time on the road each day. No matter what you're looking for in a midsize SUV, there's a Pathfinder that delivers, whether that's an adventurous off-road machine or something with fantastic luxury for making the most of your daily commute.

When you start looking for a 2025 Nissan Pathfinder for sale, you'll find five trim levels to choose from, which gives you the freedom to get everything you need. Deciding on which one of these trims is right for you can be tricky, so let's take a look at each one and we'll figure out which trim has what you're looking for.

Pathfinder S: The Perfect Place to Start

Here, we have the S trim, which gives us all of the standard features for the Pathfinder, making it a great choice if you want to keep things simple. You get a 3.5L V6 engine that delivers 284 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque, and it is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard, though four-wheel drive (4x4) is available for the S and other trims. Despite its large size, you can get an estimated 20 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway with FWD models, letting you take care of everything you need to do with fewer stops for gas.

The Pathfinder S has 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires, plus you get LED headlights and a black grille with a chrome surround. A Nissan Intelligent Key is standard, giving you easy entry, while Push Button Start is ideal for getting going. You'll enjoy the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance features standard, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, and Lane Departure Warning; a Blind Spot Warning when you are about to change lanes is also included, along with a Rear Cross Traffic Alert and High Beam Assist to help you avoid blinding drivers in oncoming traffic.

Looking inside, the S trim has cloth upholstery with a six-way driver's seat; the second row has a 60/40 split-bench seat, and the third row has reclining and folding 60/40 bench seats; this creates room for eight passengers. You get a standard eight-inch NissanConnect infotainment system in the S, with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a six-speaker sound system. The S also has a seven-inch multifunction information display, plus illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls and more. Overall, this trim is a great place to start, and it ensures you have an SUV that you'll love driving each day, but the options beyond it give you more to enjoy.

Pathfinder SV: Great Upgrades, Extra Features

As the second trim level, the changes here aren't massive, but there are enough to make it a fantastic pick if you're looking for a bit more than what comes standard. The SV has a power open/close rear cargo door, heated outside mirrors (to keep themselves clear in all kinds of weather), and turn signal indicators built into the side mirrors. Rather than the standard Blind Spot Warning, the SV trim and those higher come with Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention that can help keep you from merging into someone you don't see, as well as Intelligent Lane Intervention to prevent drifting from your lane. You also get Intelligent Cruise Control with Full Speed Range and Hold with traffic stop/go to make long drives and your daily commute less stressful.

Inside, you get an eight-way power driver's seat with two-way power lumbar settings, along with heated front seats that are perfect for cold winter mornings and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The second-row bench is still standard, although second-row bucket seats are available if you prefer. You also have a number of other options available to you that you can't get with the base trim, like a panoramic moonroof and remote-activated perimeter lighting with puddle lights that can make it nicer to approach and get into your vehicle at night. All of this makes the SV a terrific choice if you want some fine upgrades without going overboard.

Pathfinder SL: Elevate Your Drive Even Further

Although the SL isn't the pinnacle trim, it gives you a lot to enjoy while driving each day. For example, it has a power rear liftgate that you can open using the keyfob, and you can get LED fog lights along with the available remote-activated perimeter lighting. 18-inch machined aluminum wheels with painted accents are standard, but 20-inch dark-painted wheels are available for a bold, distinct look. You can also get the panoramic moonroof with this trim, though it's not included as standard.

Looking inside, we find a number of gorgeous upgrades over previous trims, starting with the leather upholstery that looks and feels amazing. The passenger seat includes power controls with two-way lumbar, and you get a heated steering wheel to go along with the heated front seats. A second-row bench is still standard, with heated bucket seats available for the second row if you prefer; just keep in mind this reduces seating to seven passengers in total. You get a larger nine-inch NissanConnect infotainment system with navigation included, plus a wireless charging pad up front; a Bose sound system is also available.

Pathfinder Rock Creek: Even More Adventurous

If you're looking for a three-row SUV for some light off-roading or camping, then the Rock Creek trim is for you. This trim is only offered with 4x4 and has the standard engine tuned for 295 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, enhancing its performance.

You get 18-inch beadlock-style wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires that are perfect for taking you anywhere you want to go. Nissan includes an HD Intelligent Around View Monitor, with an exclusive Off-Road Mode to give you enhanced visibility when maneuvering in tricky situations, as well as other great safety tech we've seen. Inside, the Rock Creek is much like the SV trim, though it comes with leatherette details on the cloth seats and is only offered with second-row captain's seats that are incredibly comfortable but reduce occupancy to seven.

Pathfinder Platinum: Ultimate Luxury and Tech

Finally, we have the Platinum trim, which is the pinnacle option for the Pathfinder and the way to go if you're looking for the best features available. It comes with 20-inch machine-finished wheels that look fantastic, along with the panoramic moonroof, proximity functionality for the rear door to open automatically as you approach, and power-folding side mirrors.

Inside, you'll find a gorgeously appointed cabin with heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and semi-aniline leather upholstery. The Platinum trim comes with a massive 12.3-inch driver display that makes it easy to keep an eye on important data while you drive. You get the nine-inch NissanConnect system with navigation and a wireless charging pad, plus the 13-speaker Bose Premium sound system is included to fill your SUV with rich, decadent audio.

Which Pathfinder Trim Is Right for You?

As you can see, these trims give you five distinct expressions of what the Pathfinder has to offer. You can keep things simple with the S trim or enjoy a number of upgrades with the SV. The SL provides more for you to take advantage of, and the Platinum goes even further with a stunning array of luxury items and tech upgrades. Finally, the Rock Creek is the one to choose if you're looking for a midsize SUV to take off-road or go camping, knowing you can reach any site.
